Welcome! We are Episcopal Christians more commonly known as Episcopalians. We live our life together under the Lordship of Jesus Christ and the leadership and authority of our Bishop. It is a way of ordering our life together that dates from the time of Jesus and his Apostles.
In the Episcopal Church, when a bishop in charge of a diocese (known as a Bishop Diocesan) announces his or her intention to retire, the Standing Committee has the canonical responsibility to administer the process for the search, selection, election, and consecration of the next Bishop to lead the diocese. Such is the case in Oklahoma. The Rt. Rev. Robert M. Moody has faithfully led our Diocese since his election on the first ballot in 1987. He has made known his intention to retire in 2007.
This website has been established by the Standing Committee of the Episcopal Diocese of Oklahoma as a means of publishing information about the process in a timely and convenient manner. We are delighted you are visiting this site, and we pray you will pray with us as we walk this journey together. To God be the Glory.
